The Whistling Woods is a woodland area on the Ulfstead Branch Line. Toby had a fear of the strange noises in this woods, but Thomas and James helped him overcome his fear. The woods has a woodland waterfall and is home to Thomas' friend, the snowy owl.
It was one of the places Thomas tried to take a composer to hear the sounds of Sodor. However, Gordon interrupted them with the express and Thomas was annoyed about it, but the composer liked it.
There is also a meadow of flowers just outside of the forest. Thomas once went there when he was delivering beehives for Farmer Trotter. However, the bees escaped and would not come back to their hives.
It can be accessed via the Whistling Woods Junction.
