We all know that there's a blog here regarding least favourite locations that's been getting some more comments recently. However, I decided to make this thread to see which locations are popular and are liked by fans. I'll start off first, starting with:
- Season 4 Skarloey Railway: Out of all things in Season 4, one of my absolute favourite things about that season were the sets. Such magnificent detail and scenery, with life thrown into every corner and crevice of the sets. One of my favourite locations in particular was the Causeway Castle, which was rendered splendidly when it returned in Season 18. I literally paused the episode because I couldn't tell if the Causeway Castle was a painting or if it was actual CGI animation. I also liked the Woodland Way as well, it would be paradise just to have a picnic there, even if it was only for half an hour or so.
- The Bluebell Railway: Alright, I'll be honest here, I don't like the Bluebell Railway in the TV Series. The way it's so historically inaccurate, coupled with how it's even on Sodor for that matter and the reason it got its name (really, it got its name because of the flowers growing next to the track? So what if there's a railway next to a farm, will it be called the farm railway?). However, you can't deny how beautiful the sets look, and they're probably the only things that make the episodes they're in watchable. Just imagine if Arc rendered those sets in a sunset or sunrise mode, the beautifulness level would be at its highest...
- CGI Clay Pits: Originally, I wasn't very fond of the Clay Pits' Season 2 set, as it just seemed a little small for a quarry. However, there's no denying that when the Clay Pits returned this year, they vastly improved from how they did before, in fact, they look marvellous! The scenery, the business of the quarry, all of the big industrial buildings, it really feels like you're in an actual quarry. I originally wasn't so fond of Arc when they took over last year, but after a few episodes from Season 17 and a lot of episodes from Season 18, they're hands down the best animators for the show. (in my honest opinion)
