In the television series, the North Western Railway meets the Skarloey Railway at the Transfer Yards.

The Transfers Yards are where the North Western Railway and Skarloey Railway transfer goods. Thomas brought Freddie to the yards when Freddie returned to the railway. Duncan also brought Thomas logs here in The Great Discovery.

The Transfer Yards were first introduced in the ninth season of the television series and appeared each season afterward until the thirteenth when the show switched to CGI animation.
