Thomas and the Windy Day is a book based on a story written by Christopher Awdry, illustrated by Robin Davies, and published in 2000 by Egmont.
It is a very windy day on Sodor as Thomas steams along. First, he meets James at a junction, who narrowly avoids being hit by a signal that crashes to the ground. James moves along the platform just in time as the station roof collapses behind him. Thomas carries on, puffing past a football field when suddenly, all the players start to wave at him wildly. The driver spots a tree ahead that had fallen onto the line and thanks the players for warning them. After Terence pulled the tree off the line, it is chopped up using a saw powered by Trevor's flywheel. Percy and Toby then help to transport the chopped up logs away.
