Episodes

  1. Henry and the Flagpole - There is to be a banquet at the Scottish castle and Henry must collect a new flagpole from the docks. Henry doesn't spot the flagpole: it rolls off his flatbed and breaks. Henry is given the job of carrying some workmen to the forest and he worries that Sir Topham will use his favorite tall pine tree as a replacement flagpole. Henry sets off, with the workmen, to find a replacement elsewhere. This causes confusion and delay and Sir Topham is cross. In the nick of time, Henry finds the ideal replacement flagpole - an old ship's mast! Sir Topham thinks this is a great idea, but also tells Henry he had no intention of chopping down Henry's pine tree! The banquet is a big success and Henry is very happy!
  2. Thomas and the New Engine - A new steam engine has come to the island. Thomas is collecting some iron for a broken bridge when he sees Neville, the new engine, being teased by 'Arry and Bert. Thomas mistakes the teasing for laughing and thinks Neville is friends with the diesels! Thomas tells James what he saw and word spreads from steam engine to steam engine. When the story finally gets back to Thomas, it's snowballed wildly out of control. Thomas realises that he's been wrong about Neville - but he also realises that he hasn't warned Neville about the broken bridge! It's a close call but Thomas saves Neville in the nick of time. Thomas is sorry that he told silly stories. He and Neville become firm friends!
  3. Thomas' New Trucks - Thomas is green with envy when James gets some shiny new trucks. He is delighted however, when Sir Topham tells him that he too is getting shiny new trucks! James bets Thomas will never be able to keep them clean. Thomas is determined to keep his new trucks much shinier than James. The more Thomas tries to keep his trucks clean, the dirtier and more troublesome they become. Sir Topham has some more deliveries for the engines. Eager not to get dirty again, Thomas swaps his new trucks for his old ones, but the coupling on his old trucks is rusty and cracks - spilling coal everywhere and trapping Thomas! Sir Topham is cross with Thomas for using his old trucks...
