The Lead Mines are located near Toryreck and Dryaw off of Thomas' Branch Line. The rails are strong enough to hold the weight of trucks, but not the weight of engines, and the ground is not firm enough to house cranes.
Thomas once went past a danger sign and fell down a mine on a section of unstable track. When the lead veins went dry in 1930, the mines closed. Since then, the mines have reopened and uranium is now collected from them.
It appeared in the Railway Series, the first season, stock footage in the fourth season and a CGI animated flashback in Blue Mountain Mystery.
Nowadays, Percy collects trucks from here and delivers them to Knapford Harbour.
