- “Now the waiting room's crowded even when the sun shines!”
The Exhibition! is a magazine story.
Thomas is to collect some children and take them to the main station. Whilst there, they have a special art lesson and are allowed to paint pictures of all the engines and station buildings. The Fat Controller is called to the school the next day to pick the best painting. It is a hard task, but eventually a winner is picked and given a prize. Thomas then has an idea and all the paintings are moved to the Main Station where they are put on display. Now, even when it is not raining, the waiting room is packed with people looking at the colourful paintings.
