The Boatyard is a magazine story.
Plot
Duck enjoys passing a little boatyard on his branch line. One day, there was a "FOR SALE" sign at the front of the yard. The boatyard was going to have to close. The men had been offered jobs at the other boatyard on the other side of the island but they did not want to go. One day, on the way home from the seaside with some children who were drawing old boats, Duck passed the boatyard as usual. However, a child's drawing gets blown out the carriage window. Tom, who works at the boatyard, catches it and it gives him an idea. A few days later, the "FOR SALE" sign was gone and a new sign reading "Model Boat Museum" had been put up. Tom and his men had constructed models of old ships, and Tom had the job of selling tickets.
