Airships are lighter-than-air aircraft that navigate through the air under their own power. At least two have flown over the Island of Sodor, much to the bemusement of observing engines and people.

The Zeppelin

A blue airship, referred to as a zeppelin by Hugo, flew over Sodor during his visit to the island. Initially, some of the engines mistook the airship for Hugo. Hugo ended up following the aircraft to Arlesburgh Harbour, fascinated by its ability to fly, and desiring to do the same.

Technical Details

Basis

The zepellin's upper-half and stabilisers are painted silver, while the lower-half and cockpit are painted two-tone blue.
