The Sodor Dairy is one of the industries alongside Thomas' Branch Line. It is located in Elsbridge. Milk is delivered there every morning from Ffarquhar. Originally, Thomas was the only one who takes the milk with his first train, but eventually, this job was also given to Percy and Daisy. The Dairy is also where Wilbert accidentally filled up his water tank with milk.
In the television series, the Sodor Dairy was moved to the Main Line near Crosby rather than Thomas' Branch Line. The dairy not only makes milk, but cheese as well. The stinky Sodor Cheeses are the most famous products made there. They supply milk to all the stations on Sodor.
Appearances
The Dairy was first introduced in the eighth season and has been seen in every season since, except the tenth.
The Dairy Staff
Since the introduction of the Dairy in the television series, the staff members appear frequently. Their uniforms are of white trousers, a black tie, a white jacket over it, and a white hat.
It is currently unknown who voices them in the UK and US, but Mitsuhiro Sakamaki, Nobuaki Kanemitsu and Junichi Kanemaru voice them in the Japanese narration.
Trivia
- In real life, the Dairy's cows would not be permitted to roam at the trackside, and a fence would be needed to separate the railway from the Dairy's grounds. This was eventually fixed in the nineteenth season.
- Another change from that season was the addition of a small chicken farm has been added on the opposite track across the dairy.
- Probably since the thirteenth season or fourteenth season the Dairy hasn't had the word "CREAM" on the logo.
