“Snow can be strong AND soft, but good friends are even stronger!”
― Gordon

Snow Tracks is a magazine story, illustrated using photographs from the CGI television series. It was later published in the 2011 Thomas Annual.

Plot

It is winter on the island and when the Fat Controller arrives at Tidmouth Sheds everything is white. He tells the engines that whatever the weather, they still have their jobs to do. Gordon does not want to leave the sheds, but the Fat Controller tells him to deliver coal to the docks anyway. As Gordon puffs up the hill, a snowball forms in front of him and it continues to grow and grow.

Meanwhile, Thomas is chuffing up the other side of the hill. Suddenly, the huge snowball starts hurtling down the hill towards and hits him, stopping him dead in his tracks. Gordon knows what he has to do and he rushes to the docks to fetch Rocky. Soon, Thomas is put back onto the tracks and Gordon has learnt that snow can be strong and soft, but there is nothing stronger than friendship.
