Sky Spotting is a short magazine story.
Bill and Ben are working late at the quarry and it is dark by the time they set off home with their long line of troublesome trucks. It is not long before they have to wait at a signal. The twins stare up at the night sky and decide to play a spotting game. Bill sees the moon and Ben sees a sparkling star. Bill then sees a silvery trail flash past the moon. Bill's driver tells the engines that it is a shooting star. Bill is certain that Ben will not be able find anything else in the sky and they set off on their way as soon as the signal changes.
Suddenly, they hear a noise which grows louder and louder. Lights move across the sky high above the twins. Ben tells Bill that he was wrong earlier; he has spotted Jeremy working late.
