- “You almost missed the Christmas party!"
"Not really, Sir, I've already been to three!” - ― Sir Topham Hatt and Henry
Party Time is a magazine story.
Plot
Henry was in a hurry; he did not want to miss the Christmas party at the Main Station. He pulled into a small village station and dropped off a sack of post. The villagers were having a party and they invited Henry and his crew to join in. Henry stayed for a while, but he was soon running late.
His next stop was the farm where he dropped off feed for the animals. The feed was loaded onto Terence. The farmer then had a surprise for Henry and his crew - some Christmas presents! After the presents had been opened, Henry set off on his way again.
On his way back to the Main Station, Henry spots Bertie stuck in a snowdrift. Henry's crew kindly helps to dig the cold bus out. Bertie then insists that they all join in the bus depot's party. Later on, Henry leaves the party.
As Henry approaches the Main Station, he sees that the party had already started. There was loud music and lots of decorations. The Fat Controller tells Henry that he almost missed the party, but Henry replies that he has already been to three.
