Nitrogen Studios is a CGI animation studio located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This is the studio that provided the CGI elements for the twelfth season and then animated all Thomas and Friends specials and seasons until 2013. It is run by husband and wife team, Greg Tiernan and Nicole Stinn.

Starting with the seventeenth season, Arc Productions is providing the animation for the series.
