Mr. Jolly's Chocolate Factory is a confectionery factory on the Island of Sodor. On former Railway Consultant Sam Wilkinson's 2014 map of Sodor, it is located just north of Killdane on the Peel Godred Branch Line.

History and Operations

Mr. Jolly's Chocolate Factory is located at the bottom of a hill, adjacent to the railway line. There is a siding and platform here for the loading and unloading of goods shipped to and from the factory by the North Western Railway. The factory owns several of its own dedicated vans along with lorries for road deliveries.

Every day, one of the engines is sent to the factory where their trucks are filled with Mr. Jolly's world-famous chocolate bars and other confections. His chocolate is so popular that, on occasion, Harold has been employed to deliver it to places that the engines cannot get to.

Once while delivering sugar vans to the factory, Percy smashed through the walls of the factory and got covered in chocolate due to a leaky truck which spilled oil on the tracks leading to the factory.[1]

Trivia

  • The factory's logo is seen on the Take-n-Play Racing Thomas' side amongst the other advertisements.
  • The factory's logo used in a deleted scene of the sixth series episode Percy's Chocolate Crunch is now in the possession of Twitter user @ThomasTankMerch.
  • Although the factory never appeared in the CGI series itself, a CGI version of the factory was created for The Sodor Springtime Parade. This rendition of the factory reused part of one of the Sodor Steamworks buildings (also used as set dressing for Knapford Station Yard from The Adventure Begins-onwards) as well as a new sign, which replaced the text from the original sign with assorted images of chocolate easter eggs. Tracks also run all the way through the building, unlike the original.
