Moel Siabod is named after a neighbouring mountain of the same name, Moel Siabod. Built specially for the line in 1896, No. 5 was manufactured by the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works of Winterthur, Switzerland.
Moel Siabod was withdrawn from service in 2015 to endure extensive maintenance and rebuilding. She will re-enter service in late 2016 or early 2017.
