May Day Rescue is a rhyming magazine story.

PlotEdit

Lorry 1 is collecting the maypole for the May Day festival, but on the way, the pole comes loose and falls into a pond. Lorry 1 is upset and fears that all the villagers will blame him. Henry has an idea and goes to the sawmill where he collects a tree trunk and the people at the festival use it as their maypole.

TriviaEdit

• In the television series, Henry was indifferent to trees being used for different things. In Henry and the Flagpole, he is upset when he thinks a tree will be used as a flagpole. In this story he willingly fetches a tree trunk.
