Trivia

  • In the song selection menu screen, the thumbnail for Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining is the same as the one on Spills and Chills.
  • The French release uses the intermissions from Thomas' Trackside Tunes, excludes the music video at the end and only uses the Britt Allcroft logo.
  • On the French release, the soundtrack is echoed.
  • This marks the only DVD of a few things:
    • The only DVD to use a theatre menu in the US.
    • The DVD menu changed for the 2009 release, but the other selections remained the same. However, this is the only US DVD to have two different main menus.
    • The only US DVD to feature A Big Surprise for Percy, Happy Ever After, Thomas and the Rumours and Baa!.
  • On the Latin American DVD back cover, a snapshot from the eighth series episode, Thomas and the Circus is used.
  • The Latin American release excludes the episode Make Someone Happy because it did not exist in Spanish at that time. The episode was replaced with Toby's Discovery instead. In 2012, the episode was dubbed in Spanish on the US DVD, Engine Friends.
  • This was the first video release to use the first series character nameboard sequence, the second series character nameboard sequence (which is out of sync making the first part of Bill and Ben's nameboards cut and Trevor's nameboard stay on screen a little longer), and the original 14 characters nameboard sequence (as seen on Thomas Meets the Queen and Other Stories) between each episode. This trend would continue with most classic series VHS/DVD releases until Hooray for Thomas and Other Adventures in 2005.
  • The episodes on the Korean VHS/DVD are voiced over the English audio.
  • On the Korean setup menu, a snapshot from the fourth series episode, Paint Pots and Queens is used.
  • The VHS was released a day before Thomas and the Magic Railroad was released in theaters in the US.

Goofs

  • Due to a promo being used, the front cover of the original release shows James' whistle pointed upward.
  • On the Korean DVD subtitles, when Thomas says "My favorite station is Ffarquhar," it is misspelled as "Farquar."
  • On the Korean DVD episode selection menu, James and the Trouble with Trees is mistaken as "James and the Trouble with Threes."
  • Elizabeth is shown on the Korean DVD back cover, but she does not appear in any episodes and she was not introduced until the sixth series.
  • The Korean DVD English subtitles misspell Bertie as "Berdy."
  • On the Latin American DVD back cover, Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday and Toby's Discovery are mistakenly listed as Saved from Scrap and Home at Last, despite these episodes not being on that release.
  • On the Korean DVD menu, Sir Topham Hatt says view the Web Site Fun, but Web Fun is not on this Korean DVD.
  • On the Korean DVD menu, Adventures is misspelled as "Acventures."
  • On the front cover, the buffer on the flatbed is missing. This is because the shot in the background below is a reused image from Thomas and His Friends Get Along as it was an image from Passengers and Polish. Because of this, Duncan’s brake van can also be seen there.
