Märklin, a German model train maker, released a limited range of Thomas and Friends merchandise in HO scale. Because of copyright reasons, they were only available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, but they did leak out to other countries. They aren't designed for young children as they have metal frames and plastic shells. They have Märklin compatible couplings and are designed to run on Märklin's C track that possesses a third rail. The engines did not have any Digital features.
