This article is about the stream. You may be looking for the town.

The Hackenbeck is a stream near Thomas' Branch Line. The hamlet of Hackenbeck is named after the stream.

Course

The stream begins roughly one mile south-west of the hamlet of Hackenbeck, in a bog atop the nearby hills. The stream flows south for a short distance, before swinging sharply north near the town. A bridge carries the branch line over the stream here. Continuing north, the stream winds northwards through the Hackenbeck valley, before joining the River Arle between Marthwaite and Ffarquhar Road.
