Thomas Train Set Compilation Video is a promotional New Zealand VHS featuring one first series episode and three second series episodes narrated by Ringo Starr and two third series episodes narrated by George Carlin. It was released by Roadshow Entertainment in association with The Warehouse and Tomy for a promotional offer.

Episodes

  1. Thomas in Trouble - Thomas is stopped by a policeman and Toby the Tram Engine comes to the rescue.
  2. Bertie's Chase - Thomas is late, Edward is impatient and the passengers are cross. Dashing Bertie races to the rescue
  3. Percy Takes the Plunge - Thomas gives Percy a warning about Danger Signs. Percy takes no notice and soon learns his mistake.
  4. Thomas Comes to Breakfast - Thomas is being conceited but when he shows off to Percy and Toby, he finds himself an unwelcome guest in he finds himself an unwelcome guest in the Stationmaster's house.
  5. No Joke for James - James plays a trick on Gordon, which gets him into trouble. He soon learns that an engine doesn't have to pull coaches to be useful.
  6. Diesel Does It Again - Percy and Duck are outraged when Diesel arrives at the Harbour. Disaster follows.

Trivia

  • Although not shown in the title, this release serves as Volume 1 in the Thomas Train Set Compilation Video series.
  • This is the only Thomas Train Set Compilation Video to feature the Britt Allcroft logo at the start.
  • The front cover and spine feature an image from Toby's Discovery.
  • The cover layout was repeated on the second and third Thomas Train Set Compilation Videos, which used a gradient orange background.
  • This is the first VHS to be released by Roadshow Entertainment.

Goofs

  • The film is copyrighted 1996 on the back cover, but the episodes are copyrighted 1984, 1986 and 1991, respectively.
  • The intros for Bertie's Chase, Thomas Comes to Breakfast and No Joke for James are slightly cut off.
  • The outro for Bertie's Chase is cut off entirely.
  • When the intro for Percy takes the Plunge begins, the audio pitch changes for a few seconds before going back to normal. This is most likely due to reusing the Roadshow master tapes.
