“I wasn't scared, I was just being careful.”
― Thomas talking to Percy

Thomas and the Swans is the third story in the 1992 Annual.

Plot

A pheasant scares Percy, but Thomas scoffs at him for being frightened by a bird and boasts that he could easily handle birds by blowing steam at them. But his boastfulness does not last long, when he comes face to face with an angry swan with a broken wing. That night, Thomas learns that he was good to be careful not to hurt one of the Queen's own swans.
