Thomas and the Golden Eagle (Volume 13) is a South African DVD featuring three episodes from the ninth series narrated by Michael Angelis.

Description

Thomas & Friends return with brand new adventures which feature everyone's favourite engines as they go about their work on the Island of Sodor.

Episodes

  1. Thomas and the Golden Eagle - A golden eagle has been spotted on Sodor. It's a very special bird and Thomas and Percy both want to see it. Percy's job is to collect milk from the dairy, whilst Thomas has to take a very long train of stone to the docks. Thomas strikes a deal with percy. If Percy will take half of Thomas' trucks, then Thomas will have time to see the eagle. Then Thomas will return and Percy can see the eagle! Percy agrees. Thomas searches high and low for the eagle with no luck. Percy returns to find Thomas' half of the trucks are still undelivered. Worried for his friend, Percy takes the second half of trucks to the docks too. Thomas is still looking for the eagle when he suddnely remembers Percy and races back. Percy has done of of Thomas work, but none of his own - and now he's run out of coal! Thomas takes Percy's milk to the dairy as quickly as he can and then returns to help his friend. On the way to the coal depot the finally see not one, but two golden eagles!
  2. Emily Knows Best - Emily is taking passengers to the ruined castle when she decides that she will be queen for a day. She tells Toby and Percy, at the shunting yard, that Queens are clever and always know what to do. Toby doesn't think Emily could be a queen, so Emily decides to prove it. Percy isn't sure how to handle his troublesome trucks, so Emily tells him to take them along a fast track to stop them complaining. Percy does as he is told - but crashes the trucks into Mavis and knocks over a telephone pole. Then Toby hits the telephone pol and comes off the track. Everyone is stuck! Emily admits that she didn't know what to do - it's all her fault. Luckly Toby knows what to do and tells Emily to go and raise the alarm. Emily realises that being Queen is harder than she thought.
  3. Saving Edward - When Edward starts wheezing and leaking steam, he doesn't want Sir Topham to find out in case he's to be scrapped. Worried Edward is given an important job, and when he confides in Thomas, Thomas offers to do his job for him. Edward agrees. Thomas works hard, but soon starts running late. Sir Topham notices that Thomas is doing Edward's job and wants to know why? Thomas makes up an excuse for Edward. When Edward hears about Thomas' excuse, he feels terrible and resolves to put things right. Wheezing to Sir Topham, Edward explains everything. Sir Topham announces that Edward is to report straight to the fitters yard for repairs. Edward promises to always tell Sir Topham about any problems in the future.

Trivia

  • The cover artwork for this DVD is based on the UK/Australian release Engines to the Rescue. As a result, Arthur and Spencer appear on the back cover despite not appearing in any episodes.
