Plot
Percy is telling ghost stories again. Thomas does not believe it, but then weird things start to happen. Soon, Thomas finds the explanations for the strange happenings.

Trivia
- This book is partially based on the first series episode Down the Mine and the second series episode Ghost Train, with a few changes:
- Percy runs into a cart of flour instead of lime.
- Down the Mine follows on from the events of Ghost Train and features Gordon teasing Thomas about being too scared to go to Rolf's Castle.
- Gordon apologises to Thomas after pulling him out of the mine, whereas in the original story it is the other way around.

- Percy's coal bunker railings are green.
