Episodes
- Spic and Span - The railway inspector is coming to the island of Sodor. He will be giving a special prize to the smartest engine so all the engines want to look their best. Gordon, James and Emily are all confident that they will win the prize. Thomas is sure that he and Percy stand just as good a chance. The two engines are working at the docks and Thomas gets covered in quarry desk. Thomas was worried that he'll dirty for the inspector so he heads to the wash down. Finding Emily already there, Thomas sadly went back to work. Emily was at the wash-down the next time Thomas tried so Thomas sadly went back to work. When Thomas and Percy had finished they headed to the wash down one last time to find Gordon just finishing his wash. Thomas and Percy finally get their wash, but Thomas is sure they won't win. James, Emily and Gordon are all looking splendid and all are certain that they are going to win the prize. Suddenly, James hits a truck which hits a lever which empties coal all over Gordon, James and Emily just as the inspector arrives. Thomas and Percy win the prize!
- Edward the Great - Spencer is in town. He's taking Duke and of Duchess Boxford to their summer house whilst one Sodor engine must help move their furniture. Thomas James and Gordon all want the job as they see the opportunity for a race, but the Fat Controller chooses Edward - much to the disappointment of Gordon. Determined not to let the Sodor engines down, Edward puffs off but is quickly passed by Spencer. On they race, as Spencer teases Edward. Edward falls behind and is puffing so hard that he thinks he might have to give up. When the Duke decides to stop to take some photographs, Spencer falls asleep. Edward, refusing to stop, puffs on past. When Spencer wakes, he sees Edward about to cross the finish line. He tries to catch up but can't Edward wins the race and is hailed as the pride of the Sodor railway.
- Not So Hasty Puddings (Redubbed music) - When Elizabeth gets sent to collect a shipment of Christmas puddings, Thomas is jealous. Elizabeth thinks Thomas is not very reliable. Thomas is sure he would be better than Elizabeth at traveling through the snow. The shipment is heavy and Elizabeth gets stuck in the snow. Thomas comes to the rescue and brings back Elizabeth and the Christmas puddings. Elizabeth has to admit that Thomas is reliable after all.

Trivia
- The episodes, songs and learning segments paired on the DVD are similar to when they were paired in the half hour TV format airing "Determination", although the episodes on the DVD are presented in a different order for unknown reasons.
Goofs
- The title is spelled without an apostrophe.
- The back cover misspells "quarry dust" as "quarry desk".
- The back cover misnames the Duke and Duchess of Boxford as "Duke and of Duchess Boxford".
