“Hooray for Duncan's mistake!”
Skarloey, Rheneas, Peter Sam and Rusty[src]

For the opening of Elephant Park, Sir Topham Hatt told Duncan to collect an elephant statue. However, Duncan, being Duncan, left without a brake van and ended up running out of control. He crashed into the siding at Elephant Park and the statue flew into the air and landed in the park's pond. However, the statue still remains in the pond due to popular opinion.

Duncan mentions his job with the statue in the eighteenth series episode, Emily Saves the World, while talking to Rheneas.
