  • The date modified of the files on the disc show when each disc was finished:
    • Disc 1 was finished on 9 April 2010.
    • Disc 2 was finished on 16 June 2010.
  • Thomas Gets Tricked and Edward Helps Out use the UK dub.
  • At the end of Diesel's Devious Deed, "steam" sound effects from Mr. Conductor's whistle can be heard, due to the audio taken from a Shining Time Station airing.
  • This is the second US DVD to feature UK episodes, the first being The Early Years.
  • Some of the clips used in the Thomas' Trivia Game are from UK dubs of episodes.
  • This is the first and only time Never, Never, Never Give Up was released on DVD in the US and Canada.
  • The eleventh series episodes use the eighth to tenth series intro and end credits.
  • This particular release would later influence the artwork for Complete Series DVDs in the UK.
  • On some later releases, it came with Blue Mountain Mystery Collectable Colouring Books.
  • The audio overlaps in the French dub of Cranky Bugs, which was the only featured episode to have narration done by Alec Baldwin.
  • In "How Did Thomas Meet His Friends?" Trivia Game, video footage from Thomas and Gordon, Edward and Gordon, The Sad Story of Henry, Thomas' Train, Thomas and the Breakdown Train, Trouble in the Shed, Thomas in Trouble, Emily's New Coaches, Duncan and the Old Mine, and Thomas and the Birthday Mail were used. While most of the first series clips have Ringo Starr's narration, the clips from Thomas' Train and Trouble in the Shed have George Carlin's narration.
  • The UK release, The Best of Thomas, shares twelve out of twenty episodes with this DVD.

Goofs

  • Paul Larson is mistakenly credited for writing Snow Engine when it was actually written by Jenny McDade.
  • The trucks' laugh is muted out in James Gets a New Coat.
  • Although Diesel 10 appears on the Disc 1 artwork, he does not appear in any of the featured episodes.
  • Michael Brandon is not mentioned in the title, despite the fact that he narrated more than half the episodes on the two-disc set.
