James and the Fat Controller is a board book written by Christopher Awdry and illustrated by Ken Stott.
Plot
James is given the job of taking the Fat Controller to open a new station. Unfortunately James breaks down, so Harold takes the Fat Controller to the new station, while Thomas helps James and his coaches to the opening.

Goofs
- Harold is missing his name.
- James has yellow tender and wheel splasher lining instead of black, his number is red with a yellow outline, and his whistle is missing in some of the illustrations.
- In the tenth illustration, Jock has black steam pipes, but they are grey in the last illustration. Jock also has yellow wheels, and he is also banana yellow instead of chartreuse yellow.
- Thomas and James are missing their brake pipes.
