Hiro's Hideout is a siding where Hiro was left when he began to break down. It is located in the Whistling Woods and is near the Duke and Duchess of Boxford's Summer House on the Ulfstead Branch Line.
History
A long time ago, Hiro began to break down, and the mechanics were unable to source parts for him due to him having come from Japan. Hiro was placed in a siding until the parts arrived, but was seemingly forgotten about and abandoned here for many years.
After breaking his brakes, Thomas ended up here, where he re-discovered Hiro. From then on, Thomas regularly came back to deliver parts for Hiro to make him useful again. After telling the Steam Team about him, they would visit the hideout to help Hiro too. Eventually, however, Spencer discovered the whereabouts of the hideout, meaning Thomas and Hiro had to leave early to avoid Hiro being caught.[1]
When Hiro was involved in an accident years later, Thomas ventured down the siding to find any spare parts that would have been lying around to speed up his repairs, but derailed when the track under him broke. He was later found by Harold and rescued by Percy and Rocky.[2]
Some time later, Kenji came to the hideout so he didn't have to go home alone. After being found by Thomas and Hiro, Hiro agreed to accompany him back home.[3]
