Hector, re-titled Hector the Horrid Hopper in 2011, is the fifty-second book in the My Thomas Story Library series.
Plot
Thomas finds it difficult working with Hector. But Thomas finds out that Hector is scared of being filled with coal, so Thomas puts Hector's worries at ease.

Goofs
- In the ninth illustration, Hector's front is only a little dirty, but in the eleventh illustration, his front is dirtier than before.
- In the twelfth illustration, the trucks with faces have no facial features.
