― Donald and Duck

Donald's Duck! is a magazine story illustrated using photographs from the television series.

Plot

Duck runs his own branch line by the sea. He sees it as a great responsibility and talks endlessly about it; much to the annoyance of Donald, who abruptly tells Duck to be quiet. The next morning, Duck speaks to his driver about the situation and together hatch a plan. Later that night, Duck's crew slips something into Donald's water tank. When the Scottish twin stops to fill up water the following day, a duck pops out of the tank. The duckling is tame, she shares the fireman's sandwiches and rides in the tender. The other engines enjoy teasing Donald about her and when she finally becomes tired of travelling, she hops off at the station and there she stays.

That night, Donald's crew decide to get their own back and the following morning when Duck's crew arrive for work, they discover a nest box underneath Duck's bunker. Duck finally admits defeat.

The duckling now lives at the station and she welcomes the trains as they past by. The stationmaster calls her Dilly, but, to everyone else, she is always Donald's duck.
