- “Don't soak me, please. I am no longer dizzy!”
Dizzy Dennis is a rhyming magazine story.
One day, when all the engines have left for work, Dennis is still sleeping in the shed. He wakes up briefly to call to his driver that he feels dizzy and unwell. Dennis' driver knows that Dennis is pretending and he tells the Fat Controller. The Fat Controller tells Dennis that he will feel better after a nice ice-cold wash-down. Dennis is ill no longer and quickly sets to work shunting trucks!
- In the final illustration, the trucks look out of scale.
- Dennis is incorrectly illustrated with spoked driving wheels and his crankshaft is missing.
