Caterpillar Cranes ( Scrapped model)
There are different
Caterpillar Cranes that can be seen all around Sodor, they have mainly been used in quarries and other work sites. Several scrapped cranes have also been seen several times.
One of these cranes was briefly seen working alongside the
Sodor Construction Company for the reconstruction of Great Waterton in The Great Discovery.
The caterpillar cranes appear to be based on a USA military caterpillar crane.

The ERTL models for the caterpillar cranes incorrectly refers to them as a 'he' as if there is only one of them and as if they're sentient.
its likely that The caterpillar cranes may have been intended for Thomas & Friends' sister show, TUGS as it is more detailed than most other vehicle props and were possibly made shortly before TUGS' cancellation
ERTL ( discontinued; as "Crane")
