Trivia

  • Photographs from A Close Shave and Wrong Road are used along with a single image from the cancelled episode The Missing Coach.
  • An audio cassette or CD was included with some copies of the book, featuring narration by Ringo Starr taken directly from the episode's US audio.
    • The audio cassette was the first piece of US/Canadian Thomas media to feature Ringo Starr's narration of "Percy Takes the Plunge", although his narration was not released on home video until the VHS release of Best of Percy on July 24, 2001.
  • A rare photo shows Thomas and Percy while he is sad and has mud on his face and his cylinder is loose. The other rare one shows Henry on the bridge without his coaches.
  • In Thomas' Big Storybook, "A Cow on the Line" was put as the last story.

Goofs

  • In "Old Iron":
    • The photograph of James' ill driver shows him standing inside of Henry's cab.
    • When the narrator describes James as feeling bad tempered, he is smiling while at the sheds with Thomas and Percy.
    • Despite James' runaway mishap starting in the morning, the clock in the signal box has its hands set at 1:20, as if it was afternoon.
  • In "Percy Takes the Plunge", the text says that Percy ran off to the harbour singing, but he is already at the harbour.
